2004 Fielden Reunion
August 7-8
New Market, TN

The first place in this country our forefathers settled where their descendants still live is the area of Jefferson County Tennessee around the small town of New Market. This historic place for our families will again be the site of our 2004 reunion.

New Market has been the most popular site for our gatherings. The local committee will do a great job, as they have in the past, to make the reunion a success.

There are many attractions nearby which you may wish to see during your visit to this area. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are within a 30-45 minute drive of the motel accommodations. There you will find a new aquarium, Dollywood, numerous theaters with live performances by well known entertainers, and more shopping outlet malls than you can possibly visit. For more detailed information you can contact the Chambers of Commerce in these cities.

We cannot give all of the details for the reunion at this time. Neither can we afford to send another mailing to the more than 1000 families who are getting this Newsletter. Therefore, if you think it likely you will attend, please contact Marvel with contact information and the number of adults, teens, and children expected to attend with you. THIS IS NOT A DEFINITE COMMITMENT TO ATTEND. It will facilitate creation of a special mailing list to send detailed information several months before reunion time.

General plans include an informal gathering on Saturday to get acquainted and exchange family information. Saturday evening there will be a "Dutch treat" meal at a local restaurant. This type of event has proven to be popular at previous reunions. Sunday we will have morning and afternoon meetings with lunch served onsite and some entertainment interspersed. There will be opportunities on both days to visit some historical places of interest to Fieldens. Prizes will be awarded to the oldest and youngest persons in attendance, the largest family, the one traveling the farthest distance from home, etc.
